This NSC calculator shows what a National Savings Certificate bought today pays after five years, and how much interest is added each year along the way. It uses the current NSC rate of 7.7%, compounded once a year, which is how the post office values the certificate.
Why show every year? Because for tax, each of the first four years of growth is deemed put back into NSC, which old regime filers may deduct. Type an amount, open the table, and you have the numbers for your return too.

How the NSC calculator works
The certificate grows by the NSC rate once a year and pays everything at the end:
Maturity = Amount × (1 + 7.7%) to the power 5. For ₹75,000: ₹75,000 × 1.449 = about ₹1,08,678, so ₹33,678 of interest.
The calculator also lists each year's interest, because the post office and the tax rules both look at the certificate one year at a time.

Using the NSC interest calculator for an older certificate
A certificate keeps the rate of the quarter it was bought. If yours was bought when NSC paid 6.8%, the maturity on ₹1 lakh is about ₹1,38,950, not ₹1,44,903. Since this tool runs on today's rate, older holders should compound their receipt's own rate, or simply ask the counter.
The current and past rates are on the NSC interest rate page.
Buying an NSC every year: a ladder
Many families buy a new certificate each April. From the sixth year onward, one certificate matures every year, so there is a yearly payout without breaking anything. With ₹50,000 a year, each maturing certificate pays about ₹72,452. The calculator shows a single certificate; a ladder is simply that figure repeated, one year apart.
Monthly interest and other NSC calculator questions
People sometimes look for a post office NSC calculator with monthly interest. NSC does not pay monthly; nothing is paid until year five. If you need monthly income, the MIS calculator is the right tool.
An NSC return calculator, an NSC maturity calculator, an NSC interest rate calculator and an NSC scheme calculator are all this same page. The post office NSC interest rate calculator figure will match your passbook to the rupee or very close.
NSC calculator vs FD calculator on the same money
Put ₹1 lakh in each for five years: the certificate hands back ₹44,903 of growth in one go, while the 5 year TD sends ₹7,714 each anniversary, ₹38,568 altogether when spent. NSC wins because its interest compounds inside the certificate. If you need yearly cash, the FD fits; if not, NSC is the stronger choice. Compare on the FD calculator, and see the full product on NSC post office scheme.
